The local e-commerce market is expected to be valued at US$51 billion by 2025, said Sheji Ho, chief of marketing for aCommerce Group, one of Southeast Asia's leading e-commerce companies. In comparison, China's e-commerce market now accounts for 25% of its total retail. Southeast Asia's e-commerce market is projected to reach $238 billion by 2025, reported ecommerceIQ, an Asean website. Mr Ho said local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are increasingly moving to the e-commerce platform through social media like Facebook and Instagram. Mr Ho said competition in the Thai e-commerce market is expected to intensify because of the entry of new players into the market.
